Welcome, I’m so excited to meet you!
I’m Jocelyn, I’m a writer, a creative projectician, and the girl behind all of the content you’ll discover here on this site.
Since this is our first time meeting, I should probably introduce myself as well as this site. And as I just love to make lists, I think that will be the best way for us to get to know each other (or for you to get to know me).
About Me (the Basics)
- B.A. in English Literature from BYU
- 3x participant of the Disney College Program
- member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
About This Site (also the Basics)
- Started Oct. 1, 2019
- Coming up on 5 years this year!!
- What I write
- movie reviews (with my Disney Film Project)
- reading challenges (like my Presidential Book Challenge)
- creative projects (like my One Year, Twelve Stories Project)
- How often do I write?
- I try to write every week. Sometimes my offline life gets in the way, but I do try to have new content consistently available.
Bonus Interests (Some Things I Love)
- Architecture
- If I go somewhere, whether for the first time or the hundredth time, I spend just as much time looking at buildings and structures as I do looking at people or plants. And even if I’m just looking at photos in a book (coffee table books are the best!), I could spend hours just looking and learning about different buildings.
- Tv Shows/Movies
- I won’t lie, I spend a great deal of time watching tv shows and movies, probably too much time. But I just love seeing characters come to life on the screen and over the past few years, I’ve come to embrace shows in other languages (with subtitles not even being an issue after a lifetime of using them…long story)
- Bullet Lists
- I mentioned above that I love lists and I do, but I especially love bullet lists. I use them ALL THE TIME, whether in review posts or when making my to-do lists. But a word of warning, don’t come to me with a numbered list, I won’t allow it. Just kidding, but really. I prefer bullet lists over numbered lists any day.
- Museums
- There’s something so cool about museums, especially the ones with interactive exhibits. Balboa Park in San Diego holds a special place in my heart for its wide assortment of museums (and for its architecture and theatrical productions) as well as the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco.
- Theater
- Covid pandemic aside, I don’t go to the theater enough. I got really lucky to be able to see matinee shows as field trips when I was in elementary school, and seeing shows for class assignments continued all the way through college. I love being in the theater watching shows and also love watching filmed stage productions of shows that I might not get the chance to see in person.
