I want to be more authentic and transparent on this site, as becoming a better and more professional writer is my goal and dream. Thus today’s post is celebrating me. I have written every day since the beginning of November. Just before the month started, I had decided to write and publish a blog post every day of November. It was an unspoken challenge to myself, as I have been in quite the slump in recent days.
To be honest, I didn’t want to openly state that I would be doing it. I actually had tried twice already this year. The first attempt was in May to celebrate my birthday. I wrote just two posts, I think I was late on posting (by several days), and finally, I realized it would cause more pain and stress to play catch up than to try again later. I think I was going to attempt it again in September, but that didn’t happen either.
The common denominator between those two attempts was me getting in my own way.
I was overthinking what I wanted to write and couldn’t find the right words, and it all went downhill from there. That’s okay though because it gave me time to reflect and figure things out. And now I’ve made it halfway through the month! I am really proud of myself.
Don’t worry, I won’t stop at the end of the month, though. I haven’t decided yet if I will continue daily posts, but getting back into writing and being more intentional with my website, has been very good. It’s been clearing the cobwebs that have formed from the lack of writing. Yes, I would say this challenge so far has been a success. I’m not going to leave it to fate, though, so expect a follow-up post about it after I completely and successfully write every day for the rest of this month.
