I don’t observe holiday boundaries when it comes to movies. I absolutely do not, though I’m pretty sure my friends have brought that up a time or two in the past. Because if I’m going to be watching by myself, I will obviously go for the movie I want the most, regardless of the season.
Now I’ve previously mentioned how I feel about Hallmark Christmas movies, though I could certainly write even more about it, but what does that matter when it’s actually Christmas season? Well, that’s because tomorrow I am watching round 2 of my Fright Fest movie marathon because my cousin did not get the chance to join us during round 1. She happened to be out of town on the only Saturday in October that worked for me for a full marathon.
I might make it a tradition since I had so much fun. Round 1 of Fright Fest was a triple-movie marathon, though only my aunt and I were present for the entire event because of scheduling. That round featured Hitchcock’s Psycho and The Birds and then a non-Hitchcock film, Watcher in the Woods starring Bette Davis.
Round 2 will only have a reprise of The Birds. We are adding the new Muppets’ Haunted Mansion special on Disney+, and there will be another film to be watched, but even though it’s tomorrow, I have no idea what that movie will be. It most likely won’t be Psycho, but that’s okay.
So tonight, I’m watching Christmas movies, and then tomorrow I will be watching even more Christmas movies before going back to the spooky and suspenseful. Since my cousin is such a big fan of Disney, I’m kind of hoping that we include Tower of Terror (with a young Kristen Dunst) or 2003’s Haunted Mansion as the final movie of the marathon. But no matter what we choose, I’m always down for a movie marathon, especially with good company.
